Music Box Sessions Season 3 | NØMAD
Music Box Sessions are back for Season Three! This year as well as a new season, we have two brand new courses. Our NC 5 and 6 is now UAL (University of the Arts London) Level 2 and 3. We were delighted that our current level 3 students were ready to kick off the new season of sessions. Alex, Connel, Declan and Callum perform with their band NØMAD and their original song 'Get High Get Saved'. We're looking forward to seeing what else they come up with this year. You can check out their socials here: https://www.facebook.com/alexrentonmusic The new UAL courses allow projects like this to be embedded into the framework, giving students real life, practical and collaborative experiences throughout their time at college. The Music Box Sessions showcases everything we do at The Music Box - Edinburgh College’s purpose-built music teaching hub in West Edinburgh. These weekly sessions give a platform to our classical ensembles, popular music bands, singer songwriters and solo artists to perform their work and have it featured on our social media channels. Filmed and edited by music lecturer Scott Hannah, recorded and mixed by learning assistant Sarah May, The Music Box Sessions give our students essential studio experience, a performance to work towards and a valuable platform for promoting and sharing the music they make. Music Box Sessions Season 3 | Xander McCausland
This week’s Music Box Session is something a little different. UAL Level 3 student, Xander McCausland asked us to help record and produce his latest single ‘Scared to Love Again’. Over a number of weeks, we have worked with Xander to build up his track ready to film for the Music Box Session. The video captures a glimpse of the process on the day that we recorded Xander’s vocals. Xander is a prolific singer songwriter, and you can find out more about his projects on his social media pages here: YouTube: @xandermccausland6209 Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/rednax12344 We really enjoyed working together with Xander on this project. A Music Box Session is usually a capture of a live session, but we would like to work on more projects like this in the future. If any student singer songwriters would like to work on something similar, please do get in touch on the usual channels or by DM. We are of course always keen to work with bands and artists on the live takes and usual format too.
